Draft — pending legal review. This document is a working draft. Items shown in [brackets] are placeholders for business-specific details (legal entity, ABN, contact address) and must be completed and reviewed by a qualified adviser before public launch.

Who we are

This policy explains how [legal entity name] (ABN [ABN]), operating the GoalGods platform (“GoalGods”, “we”, “us”), handles your personal information. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

  • Account details: email address, display name, and password (stored only as a secure hash — never in plain text).
  • Age confirmation: your declaration that you are 18 or over.
  • Profile content you choose to add: avatar image and kit/badge designs.
  • Gameplay data: squads, transfers, joker usage, league memberships, and chat messages you post.
  • Optional device data: web-push subscription details, if you enable notifications.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic usage logs, collected to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and let you play in competitions and leagues.
  • To display standings, analytics, and league chat.
  • To send account and gameplay communications (for example, email verification and — if you opt in — deadline and injury alerts).
  • To operate, secure, debug, and improve the platform.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising profiling.

Advertising

The free (Standard) tier displays advertising served by Goal Gods’ own ad server so we can keep core gameplay free. Advertising on GoalGods is contextual and geographic only:

  • Ads are chosen from the page you are viewing (for example, a slot on the matchday page) and your broad geographic region (country-level).
  • A pseudonymous identifier (a hash of your account id) may be used to limit how often you see the same ad. No advertising cookies are set, and no cross-site tracking, retargeting, or third-party advertising data is used.
  • Pro members are ad-free: Pro accounts receive no ads and no ad requests are made on their behalf.
  • We do not use your personal information (name, email, or gameplay data) to target ads.

Advertiser landing pages are third-party sites subject to their own privacy policies. This section is pending legal review.

Sharing and third parties

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the platform, and only as needed — for example, email delivery, hosting, and error monitoring. Live sports statistics are sourced from third-party data providers; this involves player data, not your personal information. Providers are bound to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us.

Storage and security

Data is stored on secured infrastructure and protected with encryption in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as required to meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Chat messages you delete are hidden from other users and retained only as needed for moderation and audit before removal.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can view and update your display name, email and avatar in your profile settings, and manage notification preferences at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information (including a full erasure of your account data) by contacting us at [privacy contact email]. We will respond within a reasonable period.

Children

GoalGods is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.

Contact and complaints

For privacy questions or complaints, contact us at [privacy contact email]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
